Quota system

After WWI, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Cornell lead establishment of undergraduate quota system to limit percentage of Jews, with medical schools following suit. Only NYU Medical School had no formal quota system, with its average class being over 50% Jewish (trained Albert Sabin and Jonas Salk), with many of its graduates accepted for internships in its medical and surgical divisions at Bellevue (along with Mount Sinai) (Oshinsky, 196-198; Oshinsky II, 140).
