First description of chorea (movement disorders, esp. facial tics) by Thomas Sydenham (Sydenham’s chorea) which, in late 18th and early 19th centuries was widely linked to a prior attack of rheumatic fever (Kushner, 32-33), though Charcot, unconvincingly, later denied the connection (36).
