Virchow’s Cellular Pathology “put an end to the last vestiges of humoralism.  In doing so, however, Virchow undermined the foundations of constitutional pathology by arguing that, for the future, pathology must abandon all prior theories founded upon diathesis and dyscrasis and, instead, rely on histology” (Haller, 13).
