Wilhelm Hiss, Jr., working at Carl Ludwig’s lab in Leipzig, discovers the bundle of cardiac muscle connecting the septal walls in atria and ventricles in mice, dogs, and humans. The “bundle of Hiss” (i.e., AV bundle), conducted cardiac impulses from the atria to ventricles (Jeffreey, loc 136).
