Joseph Bloodgood (of Halsted’s staff) becomes first surgeon to wear rubber gloves in every operation (Crowe, 50-52; Harvey, 73-74). In 1903, Moynihan brings rubber gloves back to Leeds, England, following visit to U.S. (Bateman, 126-128).
