Osler leaves Hopkins and becomes Regius Professor at Oxford, after accepting the offer in 1904 while at Oxford with Cushing (Fulton, 235-237); he is replaced by Lewellys Barker, who returned from Chicago where he had served as Professor of Anatomy (Barker, 143-54).
