Danzig surgeon Erwin Liek, “father of Nazi medicine,” publishes The Spread, Prevention, and Control of Cancer, propounding view of cancer as a disease of civilization, a “cultural disease” whose incidence was on the rise and against which a natural way of life was the best protection.
