With Rockefeller Foundation backing, Wilder Penfield establishes McGill University’s Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital, where he perfected the “Montreal Procedure” for treating epilepsy and went on to develop somatotopic mapping (Penfield Homunculi) located across sensory and motor cortices.
