Four plaintiff psychologists file lawsuit against American Psychoanalytic Association, NY Psa. Institute, Columbia University Center for Psa. Training and Research, and the International Psychoanalytic Association alleging violations of Sherman Act (intended to eliminate unfair, anticompetitive trade practices) that excluded non-MDs from obtaining psychoanalytic training. Settlement of 1989 was a victory for plaintiffs.
