American Psychiatric Association quietly eliminates “Ego-Dystonic Homosexuality” from DSM III-R (Kirk & Kutchins, 90). DSM III-R also introduced “new entity” of “delusional disorder” (DD) “that appeared perfectly suited for the purpose of distinguishing one [antipsychotic] compound from another” (Healy, 184-85). U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois decides against organized medicine and for chiropractic in Wilk v. AMA.
